The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is the first of its kind in Canada. Combining a traditional Squamish longhouse and a Lil’wat Istken pit house, the dramatic mountain views set the tone for this educational facility. Here, kids can learn more about the history of the area and its indigenous population, the remnants of which have been preserved throughout a variety of exhibits. With personal stories and a few hands-on experiences, the narrative is presented in a way that engages both adults and children.
