Launched in 1997, the Donkey Sanctuary is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization with a simple and powerful mission statement: “Save the Donkeys.” Entrance to the sanctuary is entirely free, and children can pet, feed, and mingle with the donkeys while parents can enjoy a coffee or snack on the observation deck.
