El Acuario de Playa is one of the few indoor excursions available in Playa Del Carmen. That being said, it’s probably the best option for a gloomy or sweltering day, as the indoor aquarium can keep kids busy for an hour or two. Kids can gawk at geckos, turtles, and fish species like clownfish and sea horses, scattered throughout the three-story establishment. The experience culminates in the shark tunnel, where the creatures swim overhead while the staff relays facts about them.
