  1. Get a Swim-Up room. While they are a little more expensive, it’s not often you get a chance to experience being able to swim right from your own patio. However there is no card swipe on the patio doors, so your door will remain unlocked. You should also request a safety gate if you get a swim-up room. They put them in for younger kids, but I slept better knowing there wasn’t a chance my 5yr old could slide the door open and go for a swim. There wasn’t a gate when we arrived but after requesting it one was added the next day.

  2. Make Reservations for Dining Early. If a concierge reaches out to you before your stay, request dining reservations at that time. They were able to get us reservations for our first night, but not for the remainder of our stay. When we arrived, the concierge was able to get us reservations, but not always at the time we preferred. If you don’t get the time you want, show up a little early. Don’t mention your reservation time — just give your last name and see if they will seat you.

  3. If you are set on character breakfasts, check the schedule before your make your hotel reservation to assure they are available during your dates. For instance, at the time of writing this, the Ninja Turtle breakfast is only available on Thursdays.

  4. The Orange Carpet event is the big event usually held on Saturday nights. If you show up early, they have everything set up — including hair, face, and nail booths around the bleacher area for the kids. This means you don’t have to wait in the entry line and can sit and enjoy some food prior to the event starting, plus get a good spot on the bleachers. You will, however, miss being announced and walking the Orange Carpet, but we didn’t mind.

  5. Kids Club is open house from 12-2pm. It is open to any age, giving younger kids a chance to enjoy the club with parental supervision. Fortnite is on the gaming systems, so it’s also a chance for older kids to enjoy some video game time.

  6. During the pool game activities (listed on the daily program), there’s a chance that participating kids will get slimed in the sit-down slime machine. For a family to get slimed, there is an additional fee, so it’s a good way to have the kids experience it for free. There is also a mass sliming at 3pm daily at the water park’s large bucket.

  7. Are you leaving right before lunch time? order room service the night before (as 6-11 is breakfast only). Or head to Aqua Bites at the water park which starts serving food at 10am. Grab some lunch to enjoy on the 45 minute ride to the airport.

  8. Enjoy Green Slime at Aqua Bites: You can enjoy a Pina Colada with green dye and their Green Slime Ketchup. It’s the only place in the resort that offers these two items.

  9. Visit Space Walker Restaurant for the inner core dessert. But make sure you order an additional dessert as this one didn’t taste very good — but it was worth the experience and look on the kids faces!
