We recently visited Barcelona with our three children and I can’t recommend it enough to other families. We were able to do a number of different tours around the city and had some great dining experiences.
Where to Stay:
We stayed in a three bedroom apartment in the Miro building through Enjoy BCN. The apartment was great and the company was wonderful to work with and have rental locations throughout the city. There was a small rooftop pool we all enjoyed. The location was also convenient as it was right next to a metro station and very walkable.le.
Where to Eat:
- Bar Lobo: This was a great, kid-friendly restaurant. We enjoyed the tapas!
- Xurreria Trebol: This cafe is a 20-minute walk from Sagrada Familia and has very yummy churros!
- Segons Mercat: This was also a great restaurant.
Favorite Activities:

Runner Bean Tours
The woman from this tour company was wonderful with kids. We had a private tour of Parc Güell and Sagrada Família. She even had a scavenger hunt in Sagrada to keep them engaged.
Montjuïc Castle
This was an old military fortress built on top of a hill and has beautiful views of the city and the sea. The kids loved walking around and exploring the old fort.
Barcelona Cathedral Roof Tour
You need to be at least 8 years old and be able to climb about 170 steps for this tour. But it was neat to be on top of the 700 year old cathedral and see the view.
Barcelona is a very walkable city and it’s very easy to easy to get around. Everywhere we went, we felt the kids were welcomed. We definitely consider it a family friendly destination and recommend it to others!
