Our Family Friendly Paris Vacation

We were lucky enough to travel on a family friendly Paris vacation in 2018 with our children and had an amazing trip. We have been traveling with our children since they were 7 months old, and they are now 11 and 5. We have traveled all over Europe and would love to share our family friendly Paris vacation tips with you.

Where to Stay

Hotel Da Vinci in Paris is very family-friendly and has helpful staff. The location is great as it’s only a few minutes walk to the Louvre museum. They even provide a welcome kit for the kids. There is also a small pool in the basement that you can reserve for just your family for an hour. We also enjoyed staying at the Hotel Mercure Paris Centre Tour Eiffel. It was centrally located and very close to the Eiffel Tower, Catacombs of Paris and Luxembourg Gardens. The breakfasts at both hotels were decent.

Where to Eat

My advice is to avoid the busy, touristy streets when looking for food, and instead to go to the side streets to find authentic French food. I have been to France three times and have never had a bad meal.

Favorite Activities

Luxembourg Gardens are beautiful and they have amazing playgrounds.

Climbing up the bell tower next to the Notre Dame for an awesome view of the city and the gargoyles statues was fun for me and my 9-year-old. You must reserve your time slot in advance.

Take a lift up to the top of the Eiffel Tower for amazing views. Keep in mind that tickets must be reserved months in advance.

Louvre Museum is a must and needs a whole day if your kids have the patience for it.

Tuileries Garden is very nice for strolling, getting a flower ice cream from Amorino, and chasing pigeons around the fountains and amusement park. My kids loved it. We went up to the Ferris wheel at night saw a beautiful night view of the city.

Sainte Chapelle is beautiful and a must-see.

Transportation

We used Uber in Paris, to and from the airport and for our trip to the Palace of Versailles. Uber is very convenient and you will be picked up from almost anywhere within 5 minutes or so. We did not bring a car seat for our 4 year old and it was not a problem with any drivers.

I enjoy the company of my children while traveling and love how interesting their reactions are to new cultures and environments. We take trips frequently throughout the year and because of that, they have become great travelers. I hope our family friendly Paris vacation tips help you plan your next trip!
