Your Guide to Family Glamping in Style

Camping is a revered American pastime but not everyone is cut out for it (including me!) So what do you do if you want to take your family wireless and connect with nature, but don’t want to deal with the hassle of packing up all your equipment and setting up your own tent? You choose family glamping! Glamping is luxury, or glamorous, camping that gives you the best of both worlds. Read on for our guide to family glamping in style.

Types of Glamping

Many glamping accommodations are located on luxury campgrounds that provide you with a community of other glampers and 24/7 access to staff for all your needs. There are also nightly activities (s’mores!) and guided tours available if you’re interested. Some tents have private bathrooms with toilets and showers, while others share access to luxury bath-houses.

Which of these would you choose for your first glamping adventure?

  • Tree House – Live out your childhood dream by spending your trip in a tree house. Walk straight out of your room for fresh canopy air and complete peace and quiet.
  • Yurt – These are typically tent like structures made of wooden materials. They can be basic or even include luxuries like plumbing and fireplaces.
  • Tents – You won’t need to pitch your own when you go glamping, but you’ll still get the same feeling. You can choose from a simple tent, safari tent and so many more based on your requirements.
  • Cabins and Huts – If you need a little more of a hotel feeling, you should lean towards a cabin setting. Many include private bathrooms and other hotel amenities you’re used to.

Booking a Glamping Vacation

There are many websites that cater to connecting you with the glamping site that best serves your needs. Much like rental car or flight websites, these will allow you to select the criteria you need (i.e. a private bathroom) and your location to match you with the best option. Some websites will also allow you to book additional amenities and activities at this time.

Where Can You Go Glamping?

The possibilities are endless! Here are some amazing options we found:

  • A wood cabin in Montana where you can explore Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks
  • A safari tent in Africa where you can get up close and personal with wilderness
  • A dude ranch in Florida that will give you a completely different feeling than a Disney vacation
  • A beachfront luxury tent in an island destination
  • A glamping eco experience in Australia with fabulous views
  • River glamping in New Zealand for a romantic trip with your partner

Glamping may just be what your family needs to take some time away from the stress of modern life. Even the pickiest vacationer will find what they’re looking for in these accommodations, while still deviating from the traditional hotel stay.
